Davey EvoDrive Inverter Water Pump Pressure Tank

Built-In Pressure Tank

The EvoDrive pump is supplied with an integrated pressure tank that plays a critical role in maintaining stable water pressure throughout the household plumbing system.

Constructed from steel with butyl and glass-filled nylon components, the tank absorbs pressure fluctuations caused by varying water demand in bathrooms, kitchens, and irrigation points.

This reduces frequent pump start-stop cycles, improving energy efficiency and extending the service life of the motor and hydraulic components.

The tank is fitted with a Schrader valve and is pre-charged to 180-200 kPa (1.8 – 2 bar), ensuring optimal pressure response for residential water supply applications.

Schrader Valve

Schrader Valve

A Schrader Valve is the type of air valve to manage pressure and inflation that can be attached onto the EvoDrive inverter water pump.

Typically, this is found on most car tires, many bicycle tires, and even things like air-conditioning systems., and remains the same valve used at a gas station pump.

Electronic Pressure Controller

Rather than the traditional mechanical pressure switch as Torrium2, the EvoDrive system features an electric pressure controller built-in with the variable speed drive (VSD). This controller constantly checks the pressure and flow conditions in the system and regulates the speed of the pump in real time to have a constant set pressure. By removing mechanical switching, the system will have more fluid operation, less wear on internal parts and offers more precise control of pressure.

VSD (Variable-Speed Drive/Variable-Frequency Drive)

One of the most important attachments in EvoDrive system is the Variable-Speed Drive (VSD) also referred to as Variable-Frequency Drive (VFD). This control unit is an inverter unit used to regulate the speed of permanent magnet motor depending on the demand of water. When demand is low, the motor will slow down to save energy consuming less power in kilowatt-hours and decreasing the carbon emission.

When demand such that with more increase in it, motor speed increases to sustain the necessary hydraulic head and volumetric flow rate. This smart speed modulation assists in reducing water hammer in domestic plumbing and enhances the efficiency of the system in general.

Integrated Digital Control Interface

Integrated Digital Control Interface

The pump is equipped with an illuminated touch-panel control interface that allows users and technicians to view operating status, adjust pressure settings, and respond to fault warnings.

This interface simplifies commissioning and ongoing operation, making the system user-friendly for homeowners while still providing sufficient control for installers and service personnel.

Digital fault alerts assist in early detection of issues such as loss of prime or abnormal operating conditions.

Dry-Run & Loss-of-Prime Protection

The EvoDrive pump has dry-run protection and loss-of-prime protection as a constituent of its built-in control system. These safety measures automatically switch off the pump in case it is cut off, which eliminates the damage of the impeller, mechanical seal, and motor.

In installations that take water storage tanks, it is necessary especially where the water levels are likely to vary.

Self-Priming Capability

EvoDrive can be self-primed to 4 meters enabling flexible installations in pump room, basement, or ground level enclosures. These attributes help secure a good startup following maintenance or temporary air entry in the suction line, which will guarantee an easy operation and less human involvement.

EvoDrive Inverter Water Pump's Certification

Consistent production quality and product dependability are guaranteed by ISO 9001-Quality Management. All Davey products are manufactured using consistent standards throughout the supply chain thanks to this certificate.

Environmental Management, ISO 14001: Davey’s dedication to environmentally conscious design and production methods is demonstrated by the fact that manufacturing procedures adhere to ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

EN 60335-1: The core European safety standard for household and similar electrical appliances, covering general requirements for preventing hazards like electric shock, fire, and mechanical injury for devices up to 250V (single-phase) or 480V (other). It is the European adoption of the international IEC 60335-1 standard, regularly updated with amendments (e.g., A11, A15) to incorporate new technologies, such as software controls and battery safety, ensuring compliance with EU directives like the Low Voltage Directive (LVD).

EN 60335-2-41 (derived from IEC 60335-2-41): A European safety standard for electric pumps designed for household and similar applications, typically covering liquid temperatures up to 90 ℃ and voltages up to 250V (single-phase) or 480V (other). It covers aquarium, garden pond, sludge, and submersible pumps, ensuring safety regarding electrical, mechanical, and thermal hazards.

Motor

A permanent magnet electric motor that is intended to operate at variable speed drives the pump.

The integrated VFD controls the motor hence providing smooth conversion of energy between the electrical input and the hydraulic output. Having a max speed of 5200 rpm. The motor provides good performance with least energy consumption expressed in kilowatt-hours. The powder-coat motor shell is made of aluminum alloy which improves durability and heat dissipation.

Quiet & Automatic Operation

Bringing all its integrated attachments together, the pump can operate in a fully automatic mode that is quiet and thus is usable in the home set-ups where the noise level and convenience are taken into consideration.

Pressure tank buffering, VSD control and electronic monitoring give the system a chance to react to altering demand in a smooth manner without any abrupt pressure spikes and audible noise.

Inlet

The inlet connection is 1-inch BSPT female thread, to receive clean water by suctioning a water tank of supply line. The system allows the maximum suction lift of 4 meters that assists in keeping the NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) adequate and cavitation risk is minimized during the operation.

Dual Pump Connection Output

To support a more demanding residential use, or a system with redundancy need, the EvoDrive has a dual pump connection output supporting a duty or a standby-assist connection.

This enables the system to be connected to a second pump (also sold separately) making the system share its load or operate in the event of failure. These are useful in the larger houses, multi-bath, or houses with irrigation systems which need steady water pressure.

Impellers And Diffusers

The EvoDrive uses a multi-stage centrifugal hydraulic design consisting of three impellers and matching diffusers.

The impellers are manufactured from 304 stainless steel to resist corrosion, while Noryl diffusers guide water efficiently between stages.

This arrangement delivers stable volumetric flow rates and consistent hydraulic head or residential water supply and irrigation systems.

Backplate & Mechanical Seal

A silicon carbide and carbon mechanical seal separates the liquid side of the pump from the motor.

This seal prevents leakage, protects internal components, and ensures long-term reliability under continuous residential operation.

O-Ring And Spacers

Nitrile O-rings are used throughout the pump assembly to maintain pressure integrity and prevent leaks.

These sealing elements work alongside gaskets, washers, and internal spaces to ensure correct alignment and stable operation under varying pressure conditions.
