The hydraulic assembly uses an acetal jet and venturi, a Delrin internal check valve and a stainless spring steel check valve spring, all of which are very water resistant and very strong. The mechanical seal has a carbon fixed seal face, a ceramic rotating seal face, and a 304 stainless steel spring for reliable sealing performance. Nitrile rubber O-rings seal effectively throughout the pump assembly.

Installation Guide

The Davey XJ90P is suitable for easy installation in household water supply, pressure boosting, rainfall harvesting and water transfer applications. To ensure optimal operation, the pump should be installed on a firm, level surface inside a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area, with sufficient access for servicing and maintenance. The XJ90P must be used with a Davey Supercell Pressure Tank to enable proper automated pressure operation. Davey recommends the 24008P and 24018P variants.

All suction and discharge pipe work should be suitably designed and sealed to minimise air leaks and reduce friction losses inside the system. For installations with a suction lift more than 1 metre, a good foot valve is suggested. In such cases, for best operation, the internal suction side check valve of the pump should be removed before attaching the suction line.

The suction pipework must be entirely filled with water, via the priming port, before the pump is commissioned. After priming reinsert the priming plug firmly before powering on the pump. Proper priming is required to prevent dry running, maintain hydraulic efficiency and assure reliable operation.

The XJ90P is supplied by a 220–240V, 50Hz power supply and must be fitted according to all appropriate local plumbing and electrical laws. Regular inspection of the pipe connections, pressure settings and system components will help to maximise performance, reliability and service life.
