Installation Guide
The Davey XJ50P is designed for simple installation and is ideal for home water supply, pressure boosting and rainwater harvesting systems. For best performance, mount the pump on a solid, level surface in a well-ventilated area that is free from flooding and extreme environmental exposure. The pump needs to be used with a compatible Davey Supercell pressure tank such as the 24008P or 24018P to operate as an automatic pressure system.
All connections in suction pipes must be airtight to prevent air leaks, which can impact priming and performance. Davey advises the fitting of a quality foot valve for instances where the suction lift is greater than 1 metre. In these setups, the internal check valve on the suction side of the pump should be removed before attaching the suction line.
Prime the pump and suction line completely before starting up by filling with clean water through the priming inlet. Once primed reinstall the priming plug and turn the pump on. Proper priming is critical to reliable operation, to protect pump components and to achieve the anticipated hydraulic performances.
