These pump packages are often supplied on a modular pump skid platform for steel base mounting and quick installation into building piping and process system infrastructure. Another configuration may use a modular pump skid design depending on project layout or industrial plan.

Method of Identification

The Rainwater Harvesting System pump features a serialisation that begins from:

1) An alphabetical order named RBP, which is an abbreviation to define ‘RainBank Pro’ pump skid.

2) This is then followed the nominal flow rate of Litre Per Minute (lpm), and in this example, 90 is the capacity offered by this version of the rainwater harvesting system.

3) What is followed up after the numerical figures of the nominal flow is then met with the Vertical Multistage water pump variant. In this situation, the image example that characterises the method of identification shows that a Vertical Multistage water pump has been fitted in.

4) The last character that represents the pump build-up is an ‘A’, which refers to ‘Automatic‘ or a Backwash Flush

Identification also supports engineering diagram, flow chart, and process documentation for building design, farm, school, commercial project, or industrial installation planning.

In Davey Malaysia’s Asian catalogue, slight configurable changes can be seen throughout the rainwater harvesting system’s identifier code. The pump skid goes as followed:

1) MLRBP, as before, represents the RainBank Pro pump with an inverter. The inverter, or variable-frequency drive (VFD), is designed to encourage energy-savings potential by enabling the intended number of impellers according to the given status of pipes in-the-use.

2) After the alphabetical order, comes two-digits of numbers that represents the nominal capacity using BEP in metre cube per hour.

3) After the dash, a small digit represents the number of stages found.

4) Lastly, M3, as found from the image as the rear end of the serialisation signifies the number of phases.

Attachment

Pressure Tank

The system includes an 18L pressure tank constructed from powder coated mild steel.

This component stabilizes hydraulic pressure during pump operation, reduces short cycling of the electric motor, and maintains consistent water delivery during demand fluctuations.

It acts as a small pressure vessel within the centrifugal pumping cycle to improve mechanical efficiency and extend system lifespan.

Torrium2 Pressure Controller

The system incorporates an automated control management system housed within a control box enclosure.

The controller manages rainwater prioritization, mains water changeover, low tank level detection, pump fault response, and power loss protection.

Indicator lights allow easy system monitoring, clearly displaying operational status and selected water source.

This integrated control system ensures seamless operation within commercial water treatment and process system installations.

Skid Mount

The RainBank PRO is factory assembled, fully tested, and mounted on a galvanized steel base plate, forming a skid-mounted package.

This skid mount configuration supports simplified installation, quick integration into site piping, and efficient connection to rainwater tank, mains supply, and distribution valve systems.

This configuration is supplied as a booster pump skid design, suitable for commercial and industrial buildings. It functions as a complete centrifugal pump and skid assembly and is commonly supplied as a modular pump skid for structed project layouts.

Screen Pre-Filter

The system includes a screen pre-filter as part of the staged filtration process. This component removes larger debris and sediment collected from rooftop runoff, gutters, and rainwater roof water collection systems before entering the pump chamber. It enhances overall filtration performance and protects internal mechanical pump components.

Dual Sediment Cartridge Filtration

The RainBank PRO incorporates dual sediment cartridge filtration using 20 micron and 5-micron cartridges (20PP20J and 5PP20J). This staged filtration process improves water clarity and reduces suspended solids prior to UV treatment. The dual-stage system supports improved water conservation practices and cleaner water delivery for non-potable applications.

UV Disinfection Chamber

The system includes a UV disinfection chamber constructed from 316 stainless steel. The UV unit provides microbial inactivation to ensure consistent water quality. UV lamp life and performance are monitored through the controller display. This stage is critical in supporting safe reuse in commercial rainwater harvesting tank system applications.

Solenoid Valve (Automatic Mains Changeover)

The system incorporates an automated mains water back-up via a solenoid valve with dual check valve. This ensures seamless changeover between filtered rainwater supply and mains water supply when tank levels are low. The solenoid valve plays a key role in maintaining uninterrupted water service in commercial buildings.

Float Level Sensor

The system includes a low-level float switch (FS750-10 with 10cm cable) to detect rainwater tank levels. This component ensures automatic switching to mains water when rainwater storage is insufficient. It supports reliable integration within a rain catchment system, water catchment system, and sustainable drainage system.

Pressure Switch

The system utilizes an independent pressure switch in combination with a float switch.

The pressure switch monitors system discharge pressure and activates or stops the pump accordingly.

This mechanical control device ensures stable hydraulic performance and protects the motor during abnormal operating conditions.

TEFC Motor

Uses single-phase electric motor driven pup systems from 1.1kW to 2.2 kW with insulation class F and IP rated motor protection.

The motor drives the centrifugal hydraulic impeller rotation to transfer water through the filtration and UV process system using electric drive instead of fuel engine, improving efficiency and reliability.

Inlet

Rainwater inlet typically 32mm or 40mm BSP with mains backup inlet around 25mm BSP.

These connections are designed for standard steel or stainless-steel piping design with flange or threaded connection into building distribution network.

Impeller & Diffuser

Uses closed multistage impellers typical for vertical multistage centrifugal pumps.

These impellers support high head pressure generation for booster and transfer water applications in tall building or long piping networks.

O-Ring And Spacer

Internal components that makes up the rainwater harvesting system pump skid would have O-ring fitted inside across all piping sections, and this can include the pump housing, the shaft sleeve, and even the mechanical seal.

For spacers found, these would be within the individual parts where movements are conducting, and it’s placed so that the bits of items do not rub against each other upon motion transferred off mechanical energy by the shaft.
