Overview of Davey's Deep Well Water Jet Pump

The Deep Well Jet Pump by Davey range (models 095D, 125D, and 165D) is specifically designed for deep bore water extraction applications up to 42 meters depth when used with the correct Deep Well Injector Kit. These pumps are commonly applied in farm and irrigation systems, including water supply to households. Tank filling, stock watering, and sprinkler systems. The system also supports offset installations, allowing the pump to be positioned horizontally away from the bore. Built doe durability and high-pressure performance, the pump features corrosion-resistant materials and is suitable for demanding rural environments. The product is backed by a 2-year guarantee and complies with ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards.

These modes differ in output power, flow capacity, and electrical configuration.

The 095D is the smallest capacity unit (1.1 kW output), followed by the 125D (1.4kW output), and the 165D (1.8 kW output).

The 165D model is available in both single-phase and three-phase configurations, making it suitable for higher-demand installations.

Additionally, performance depends on the selected Deep Well Injector Kit (example: 22469, 22470, 22471, 22570, and so forth), which determines bore size compatibility (4” or 5”) and operational depth range.

Method of Identification

Each pump is identified by its model number (095D, 125D, 165D) along with its corresponding injector kit number.

The initial numerical figure would only represent the product variants of the Deep Well jet pump. It should be noted that each of the versions produce different output power, which are 1.1 kW (P2), 1.4 kW (P2), 1.8 kW (P2) respectively.

To its end, the alphebetical character is the ‘Deep Well‘ water pump series of Davey.

Pressure Tank

The pump is designed to operate in conjunction
with Davey’s Supercell pressure tanks for automatic
pressure system operation.

The pressure tank helps
maintain consistent water pressure, reduces pump
cycling, and enhances overall system efficiency.

Mechanical Pressure Switch

Instead of an electronic pressure controller, the system uses a mechanical pressure switch fitted as standard. This allows automatic start/stop operation based on system pressure.

A mechanical pressure switch can be attached to Davey’s Horizontal Multistage pump, which is installed as an oversight to allow operation based on the desired pressure level.

Trigger/Closure: Davey’s Horizontal Multistage electropump is activated or turned off whenever watering levels climb above or fall below the optimal pressure.

Adjustable: End users can modify the cut-in and out points to suit the requirements of a water system, giving a balanced dampening application priority over straining Davey’s Horizontal Multistage water pump. This also prevents needless pressure drops or surges that harm pipes.

Resource/energy conservation: The Horizontal Multistage water pump with the pressure switch variation can help conserve natural resources, such as our raw water source provided by Air Selangor or a comparable ration-sourcing body, to the greatest extent possible. This only occurs because the water flow rate strength is only acceptable when specifically required, which eventually lessens electropump wear and tear and prolongs its lifespan.

A systematic alphabet letter “P” is positioned at the back to acknowledge the SKU modification of Davey’s horizontal multistage that incorporates this pressure switch. The HM270-19P electropump is one example.

TEFC Motor

The pump uses a Davey-manufactured motor with a 2-pole, 2900 rpm, 50Hz configuration. Single-phase models operate on 220-240V supply, while the 165D also offers 380-450V three-phase operation. The motor features permanently split capacitor (PSC) design for single-phase models, C3 high-temperature greased bearings, double contact seals, and inbuilt thermal overload protection with automatic reset. The motor housing is aluminium with polyester powder coat finish for corrosion resistance.

Automatic Demand Response (ADR): Automatic Demand Response (ADR) is a built-in hydraulic control feature designed to optimise the performance of the Deep Well Jet Pump. It automatically regulates the internal flow balance between the injector (drive water) and the discharge outlet based on system demand and suction conditions.

ADR helps maintain stable pressure and consistent water delivery, especially when bore water levels fluctuate or demand changes. It also provides protection against loss of prime by reducing discharge performance if insufficient water is available, preventing dry running and damage to components such as impeller, mechanical seal, and motor.

Because ADR operates mechanically (not electronically), it is highly durable, reliable, and well-suited for farm and irrigation environments.

Suction Inlet

The suction inlet is 1 ¼” BSP Female, while injector suction pipe sizes depend on the selected injector kit.

Suction pipe sizes vary between 1 ¼”, 1 ½”, and 2” imperial polypipe depending on bore size and kit configuration.

Volute

In a centrifugal pump, the volute refers to the curved, spiral casing that encloses the impeller. When the impeller spins, it throws the fluid outward at high velocity. The volute then gathers this fast-moving liquid and channels it toward the discharge port. Because the casing area becomes progressively larger along its path, the fluid velocity decreases while its pressure increases. This process allows the pump to deliver pressurized fluid efficiently, making the volute an essential component in controlling flow and improving overall pump performance.

Impellers & Diffuser

The pump is a single-stage jet assisted centrifugal pump, working in conjunction with a deep well injector to achieve high suction lift capability.

The diffuser is manufactured from glass-filled Noryl, and the impeller is made from glass-filled polycarbonate for strength and corrosion resistance.

Backplate & Mechanical Seal

The backplate is constructed from glass-filled Noryl for durability and corrosion resistance.

The mechanical seal consists of a ceramic stationary seal ring and a carbon rotating seal ring, ensuring reliable sealing under high pressure and temperature conditions.

O-Ring & Spacer

O-rings are manufactured from nitrile rubber, providing effective sealing and resistance to water and moderate chemical exposure.

The priming plug is nylon, designed for hand-tightened sealing without tools.
