The Davey XF series of Water Transfer Pumps are designed for clean liquid handling across domestic water movement, irrigation, hydrographic, and inter basin transfer project applications. These pumps support portable electric, submersible, and tank transfer systems, which are ideal for house, agriculture, and industrial machine operations.

Models such as the Davey XF171 transfer pump and Davey XF192 centrifugal pump deliver high pressure flow rate, and heavy-duty performance for water play, fluid, and pressure pump applications. With Davey XF’s research and development input, these pumps are optimized for efficiency across single phase, 12V, 240V, and 110V electric systems, making them suitable for small to commercial transfer activities.

In addition, the Davey’s XF Water Transfer Pump is engineered for compatibility with British Standard Pipe, portable hand transfer, and fixed industrial systems.

92 / 171 / 221 / 192 indicates the hydraulic performance class of the pump. Different numbers represent different flow rate and total head capabilities, and also distinguish between single-stage and twin-stage models.

TEFC Motor

The XF Series pump are driven by a Davey-manufactured TEFC electric motor with IP55 enclosure protection.

The motor is corrosion resistant and designed to withstand dust, dirt, and low-pressure water jets.

It features a permanently split capacitor (PSC) design, sealed C3-HTG bearings for quiet operation, and an automatic-reset thermal overload embedded in the motor to protect against overloading caused by voltage variation, high ambient temperature, blockage, or pumping heavier liquids.

Class F insulation is an advanced electrical insulation solution intended for motors, generators, and transformers that can endure a maximum operating temperature of 155°C (311°F).

It provides enhanced thermal stability, being 25°C above that of Class B, and is frequently employed in demanding applications, high-power machinery, and settings with elevated ambient temperatures to avoid overheating and early deterioration.

Priming Plug: The pump is fitted with a priming plug located on the pump casing above the suction inlet.

This feature allows the pump casing and suction line to be manually filled with liquid before start-up.

As the XF Series is a surface mounted centrifugal pump, proper priming is essential to remove trapped air, ensure effective suction, and prevent dry running that could damage the mechanical seal.

Suction Inlet

All XF Series models use a 1” BSP female inlet.

The pump is capable of operating with maximum suction head of 7.0 to 7.5 meters, depending on model, provided correct installation and priming procedures are followed.

A volute is the spiral-shaped casing that surrounds the impeller in a Centrifugal pump.

Its main function is to collect the fluid discharged by the rotating impeller and convert the fluid’s velocity into pressure.

As the liquid leaves the impeller, it moves at high speed due to Centrifugal force.

The volute’s gradually expanding cross-sectional area slows the fluid down, and this reduction in velocity increases the pressure before the fluid exits through the discharge outlet.

This design helps improve energy conversion efficiency and ensures smoother flow within the pump.

Impellers & Diffusers

Type of Impeller: The XF Series utilizes closed vane impellers manufactured form glass-filled polycarbonate, providing corrosion resistance and efficient hydraulic performance.

The XF92and XF192 models incorporate two impellers (twin-stage design) to achieve higher head, while XF171 and XF221 use a single impeller.

Diffusers are manufactured from glass-filled nori to guide flow and reduce hydraulic losses.

Backplate & Mechanical Seal

The pumps are fitted with a high-quality mechanical shaft seal consisting of a ceramic stationary face and a carbon rotating face, supported by a stainless-steel spring.

This sealing arrangement ensures reliable leak prevention and long service life during continuous operation.

O-Ring & Spacers

Sealing is achieved using nitrile rubber O-rings, which provide good resistance to water and moderate temperatures.

Spacers and blanking rings are manufactured from glass-filled nylon or noryl, ensuring dimensional stability and durability within the pump assembly.
