Davey's StarFlo SF Variations
Davey produces only several number of product variations for the StarFlo SF swimming pool pump. There are four model numbers of the pump which are DSF750, DSF900, DSF1100, DSF1350. Each of the pump differ mainly by motor power and hydraulic output:

In the StarFlo SF pool pump model DSF750, the number “750” is the identifier which the manufacturer assigns to represent the value of motor input power (W/hp).

The pump is supplied with self-aligning barrel unions that accept both 40 mm and 50 mm PVC plumbing, making it ideal for replacements where pipework already exists. These union always use British Standard Pipe (BSP) threads and also come in variants for different type of pipes.

Motor
The multi-speed pump principle—an electric motor with a single speed—is incorporated into the StarFloSF’s primary design. Since this principle can sustainably operate to give the pool the required circulation, it does not manufacture the pump versions. The motor moves the centrifugal impeller through a closed shaft system, which enables the motor to draw in a large volume of water and pump it out through the plumbing system. With this configuration, the pump can be utilized continuously in a designated pump chamber, either by hand or with the help of an external timer.

316 Stainless Steel Shaft
Superior corrosion resistance is offered by a 316 stainless steel motor shaft, particularly in chemical, food processing, and marine settings. This is different from ordinary 304 SS, where 316 SS performs better due to the additional molybdenum. For rigorous industrial automation and washdown applications, it also provides exceptional strength, durability, and hygiene.
Built-In Thermal Protection
Power to an electrical circuit, such as a motor, is automatically restored by a self-resetting thermal overload protection mechanism. following a trip brought on by overheating from too much current. After cooling down, the circuit automatically shuts its contacts again.
Pump's Inlet

O-Ring & Spacers
The internal components of Davey’s StarFloSF pump are tightly sealed with O-rings to prevent any water leaks. Crafted from EPDM rubber, these O-rings are located in the volute casing and one fits within the adaptor of the variable-frequency drive.
Spacers are included to create essential gaps between the internal parts, ensuring they do not grind against each other unnecessarily, which could lead to wear and tear. Additionally, spacers help align various sections correctly, including the rotating shaft and the impellers within the pump.
The washer, whether flat or a small round rubber piece, is the final component placed inside the water pump. Its role is to ensure a complete seal, reduce friction, and distribute pressure evenly throughout the pump assembly. Made from polymer, it also absorbs operational noise into its hydrocarbon material, further minimizing sound. This makes it an ideal choice for household use.
